2023 Full of Milestones for Lore Link
Highlights include a successful Kickstarter, talking to Gamers at Origins and Gen Con, and opening up early access.

In early 2021, Lore Link, an online campaign management tool for Tabletop Role-Playing Games, joined the Andromeda Galactic Solutions Portfolio of Products. Lore Link came together out of the realization that despite the many digital tools produced for TTRPGs to support players and online game play, digital tools for Game Masters (GMs) don’t really exist. This leaves the GMs who run these games switching constantly between notebooks, websites, modules, and rule books, while trying to organize and coordinate a complex interactive fiction. Further research also revealed that the tools that do exist are often either too complex or too simplistic, as well as failing to meet the standards of accessibility. Mark Della-Croce, the creator of Lore Link, used these realizations, along with his many years of playing and running TTRPGs, to design Lore Link as an accessible, approachable tool for GMs.

From June 22nd through the 25th, 2023, Lore Link was at Origins Game Fair, launching their Kickstarter campaign, promoting the software and collecting feedback from gamers. Origins Game Fair is an annual tabletop gaming convention held annually in Columbus, OH. With 5,000+ gaming events, over 16,000 attendees, a dynamic vendor hall, and special events throughout the weekend, Origins was perfect for the Kickstarter and software launch. On the first day of the show, Lore Link officially launched their Kickstarter campaign, and was over halfway funded in the first week. With a goal of $5,000 to assist with web design and development costs, Lore Link wrapped on July 29th, 2023, having met 111% of the goal, with 119 backers. Having successfully completed their Kickstarter, the Lore Link team, led by Mark Della-Croce, worked hard to have the tool ready for early access by their supporters this December, with the goal of a full release aiming for mid- 2024.

Lore Link was also seen from August 3rd through the 6th, 2023 at GenCon in Indianapolis, IN. Lore Link was part of the Makers’ Market, a section of the convention featuring local artisans and game designers. While at the show, the team worked to add gamers to late backing, had the opportunity to meet some of the Kickstarter backers face-to-face, and continued to get feedback on the available demos.
