Michael Dowden to Speak at the Serverless Architecture Conference
The Andromeda CEO gives two separate talks, one on Firebase, and one on Serverless Architecture

Andromeda Galactic co-founder and CEO Michael Dowden is an Advisory Board member and presenter at this year's Serverless Architecture Conference and API Conference, hosted in The Hague, Netherlands. Held April 4th to the 6th, the conference will be a hybrid event, and Michael will be presenting his talks remotely. Those talks will be Thriving in Chaos, Implementing Authorization Models in Firebase, and Hosted, not Served.

Michael’s first talk, Thriving in Chaos, asks how well companies model their core values when chaos strikes. This talk will touch on his experiences running a company during a global pandemic, and how team morale and engagement was maintained. Learn tips for communication, collaboration, ethics, inclusivity, accessibility, and humanity that will help your team thrive. His next talk, Implementing Authorization Models in Firebase, talks about authentication and authorization when securing a database, and how Firebase provides support for both. The talk will cover how to use two standard authorization models, ACL (Access Control List), and RBAC (Role-Based Access Control). He will also cover how to enforce and manage authorization using database rules and cloud functions. His final talk, Hosted, not Served, will discuss how your static website, SPA, or PWA can be deployed on low cost, world-class hosting using just a single command, without the need for servers. This talk will dive deep into the features of Firebase Hosting, using concrete examples derived from real-world experience. You will learn about deploy and rollback, multi-site deploys, custom domains, security and cache management, and custom URL management.
