Andromeda Galactic Solutions Plays Minecraft to Benefit Children
Extra Life Fundraiser to Raise Money for Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis
The Andromeda Initiative is back, raising money for Riley Children’s Hospital through Extra Life. We’re going to do monthly games again this year, along with the official Extra Life Game Day and some personal streams. Extra Life teams play games so that children’s hospitals in the United States and Canada have the funding they need. For two years in a row, the Andromeda Initiative raised more than $1,800 to benefit Riley Children’s Hospital in Indiana. We're on a mission to play games in order to help heal kids. We've each chosen our local Children's Miracle Network Hospital. With 170 hospitals to choose from, each location treats thousands of kids annually, regardless of their illness, injury, or family's ability to pay. There are over 100,000 people who have donated money through Extra Life, which has raised over $70 million USD for sick and injured kids.
On January 29, the team played the board game Carcassonne on Board Game Arena. On February 5, Michael Dowden and Daniel Taylor took on the Torghast tower with their Warlocks in World of Warcraft. All game sessions are published on the Twitch live-streaming platform.
The Andromeda Galactic Solutions team has live-streamed 4 hours of gaming so far this year on Twitch. The next stream will be on February 19, 2021, at 8 pm. The Andromeda Initiative will be kicking off their monthly Minecraft stream on a brand new server. Guests on the Twitch stream will be encouraged to suggest challenges for the team to pursue in exchange for their donations.
