We love to come in early to work on greenfield projects for new clients, to help establish a strong foundation and build good teams from the beginning. But you know as well as we do that often the reality is much messier. Projects are often underway and sometimes off the rails before it's time to call in help. Vortex™ Process

We use our own consulting process, Vortex™, to help our clients see results quickly, and then establish a clear, repeatable pattern of success. Vortex™ is based on Lean, Kanban, and UX methodologies designed for consistent, long-term results.

Vortex, a 7 point process across 5 phases. The phases are: Identify allies and stakeholders, Start with a big win, Focus on features, Dev and Maintenance, Document and Scale. The process is illustrated in a clockwise spiral, with the steps listed as: 0 Define, 1 Observe, 2 Plan, 3 Design, 4 Implementation, 5 Deliver, 6 Measure.

We start every engagement by listening and learning about your team, processes, struggles, and goals. Then we work together to identify a quick win to get the ball rolling in the right direction.

Michael Dowden
Founder & CEO

Michael Dowden purchased his first computer (really, a box of TRS-80 parts) at a school auction in 1986. He built three working computers out of that box, kept the best for himself, and sold the other two at almost 300% profit. This started him on the road that has led to him earning a BS in Computer Science, a MBA in Entrepreneurship, and a history of working with over 100 companies, including five he founded. Michael is now the CEO of Andromeda Galactic Solutions, a published author, international keynote speaker, a Google Developer Expert in Firebase & Web Technologies, and a Microsoft MVP in Developer Technologies.

Martine Dowden
Founder & CTO

Martine Dowden has degrees in both Psychology, and Design and Visual Communications, which she uses to develop amazing user experiences and user interfaces. She specializes in web accessibility, and has years of experience in leadership, marketing, design, and development. In addition to being the CTO of Andromeda, Martine is also an international conference speaker, a published author, is a Google Developer Expert in Web Technologies, Angular, and Firebase and a Microsoft MVP in Developer Technologies.
